Hi.
Need to do three things to an account in exchange...
1. Grant a user "Service account admin" rights to the Exch_site
2. Grant a user "Service account admin" rights to the configuration container found under the Exch_site
3. Grant a user change permissions to the file share "Add-ins" on Exch_site.

havnt got a clue.....any help please??

Thanks

Sean.

Open Exchange Administrator and drill down to the Recipients and Configuration containers in the left panel.

Highlight the configuration (or any containter you wish to change the properties of) and then go to file../properties.

You can set service account status here.

I'm not sure about 2) however.

My question is why?, User accounts should not be granted service account permissions unless you are trying to read all mailbox content.

also why would you need to change the add ins permisson? does somebody need the right to add new dlls in to exchange only?

All can be done in the properties of the relevent object as long the admin account is doing it.

Thanks for all the help peeps.
Markemark, I'm setting up a blackberry enterprise server for e-mail on the move. The BES needs to connect to our Exch_site so that it can transmit e-mail across the network and out to the service provider so that this can happen.
All the above are requirements for the BES to work properly.

All sorted now.

Thanks again.

Sean
