Hi,

I accidently deleted a users computer object in Active Directory and now they cannot log on. I added the object manually again but it didn't work. I even deleted it and tried logging in again but its giving me the message:

Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later.

The user still has a user in AD, but how can I restore this computer?

Please help! Thanks!

Each object in AD has a unique SID. You have lost this information for the computer in AD.
You will need to log in to the computer using a local account and then "re-join" it to the domain using the name of the new computer object (even though it is the same.)

I ended up logging in locally and restoring. I was just hoping there was some way to restore the object without doing so.

Thanks!
