Hi everyone!

I need some help desperately!

I'm installing a new operating system on my computer. I have two hard drives:

C: Operating System
D: Data

I rebooted the system and started the standard Windows setup. Then I accidentally deleted the partition that held my data instead of the other one! Now it shows "Unpartitioned Space"!

Is there any way to recreate the partition without losing the data?

Thanks!

Joseph

I am just wondering... if I delete the EMBR, would it/ could it screw me up later trying to use different recovery option?

I was combining 2 partitions when partionmagic encountered an error. It said tha tit cancelled all tasks and no changes were made, but my main drive has been effectivly deleted.
This drive contains all of my work, and is the most important to me. Is it worth trying an option like above, or should I just pay professionals to do it?

If there is anything to be learned from your experience is: BACK UP YOUR IMPORTANT FILES/DATA BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES. FURTHERMORE, YOU SHOULD BE DOING A BACK UP ON A REGULAR BASIS!!! Back up your data to a cd. Put that cd in a safe place.

Before using a tool that makes changes to your drive, you can try and extraction tool to pull the data. R-Studio usually works.
