Is there a way to access the actual raw data tables from MS Access?

I have CMS version 13, S8710 switch, and Access 2003.

I was told this was not possible my another person, but I don's believe it.

Thanks
Bill

learn2shoot,

This is certainly possible. You can access the historical tables by installing the Informix ODBC driver on your pc.

ODBC can be used to access the CMS if you have the ODBC driver loaded on the CMS and add the OpenLink Client to your PC. The documentation is very clear and is on the ODBC disk.

The PBX is a different story. The question has been asked before and the answer seems to remain the same. No, you can not access the switch data base.

You can schedule ASA to export the data on a regular basis and then read it from there. If you are industrious you can create an application that will give you emulator access into the PBX so you can "manipulate things" a little easier. I built a 4410 emulator. Easier solutions would include something like Putty for SSH access or even a raw telnet with w2ktt as the terminal type.

ok, how do I export the PBX data from ASA? I think that will give me the information I am looking for (which is basically a call detail report)

Can I also get a CDR from CMS? Either of these three should work.

I was unable to get permission to add the Informix ODBC driver on my pc.

I use CMS as a 'poor man's cdr'
under historical reports,, other,,, call records.
then export to a text file, and then import into an excel spreadsheet...

the only problem is that the CMS only holds 5000 records, so
I run a report every morning, and every afternoon after lunch
the one in the morning I run from -1, 13:00 to 0, 00:01
and the one in the afternoon I run -1, 23:59, to 0, 13:01

Ok I tried using the poorman's CDR, and there was no data.

So I poked around and found the Data Storage Allocation and sure enough the number of call records was at zero. I needed to:

Tools- System Setup- CMS State- Single User Mode
Tools- System Setup- Data Collection - Off
Tools- System Setup- Data Storage Allocation (5000)
Tools- System Setup- Data Collection - On
Tools- System Setup- CMS State- Multiple User Mode

The system now does exactly what I want. Thanks for all the help.
