Can someone tell me how to access an SQL table through VBA, or where I might find specifics on the subject? Seems like a basic question, and I'm sure it is, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I've looked in VB books, VBA books, SQL books, VB/SQL books, online (Microsoft is no help what-so-ever), and have been perusing this message board for about an hour (most of the stuff here is way over my head).

I think the only thing I'm not really getting is how to tell VBA how to access the SQL server. Not too sure. I have set up the ODBC connection for my computer and that is working fine (or so it says). If someone could just give me a bunch of the basic commands required to use SQL tables in VBA it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mark Handford

Have you checked out SQL Pass-through queries. When you set this up you should be lead to go and choose your ODBC. This way, all parameters that are needed will be embedded in your pass-through query.

I've seen a bit about SQL pass-through queries in my search for information... I'll take another look and see what I missed.

Thanks,
Mark
