Hello,

I have a client that would like to use different printers to print reports. I would like to have a command button that would access the printer settings on the click event. This way the user could change the printer and the settings to that printer. I searched for this in this forum and the FAQ section, but couldn't find anything that fit these exact requirements. Thank you in advance.

Is this what your after:

REPORT FORM MyReport TO PRINTER PROMPT PREVIEW

or

REPORT FORM MyReport TO PRINTER PROMPT

...when they click the print button on the toolbar they get the printer select dialogue.

Trevr,

What do you mean by printer settings?

If you mean things like the paper size and paper source, then go with Neil's suggestion.

Or, call SYS(1037). You can do that any time, not necessarily just before you print a report.

If you mean things like the print quality, it depends on the printer driver. The user might be able to get at them from the Properties button in the printer dialogue (this is also available in Control Panel). If not, it would mean accessing the driver directly. That would be difficult, and would make your code printer-specific.

Thanks guys for all your help. Neil, you hit it on right on the nose. It worked perfectly. That is exactly what I needed. Thanks again.
