Hi

I am trying to access emails on exchange using VB.net. Does anyone know if this is possible and ways to go about this?

I can access stuff using outlook but i want to put it on a server which won't allow the dll i need to be registered.

Look at the exchange api.

what exchange api? is there an sdk and where can i download it?

Usually when looking for an API, the web site of the company that makes the software is a great place to start.

And if that company has a web site dedicated to software developers, that would be a great place to look for SDK's and API info.

Now, if only we knew who made Exchange...

thanks for the condescending reply much appreciated.

Ty doing a google search for something like exchange email vb .net. There is a ton of info out there on for what you are wanting to do.

I'm all for helping you with technical issues Teamgc. But you asked where to find an Exchange SDK. Take 10 seconds and think about where would be a good place to look. If you're not willing to help yourself, why would anyone else think you are worth helping?

But, since you need you hand held:

Run to and plug "Exchange SDK" in to the search text box. or click here:

Going to MS may or may not help for any given problem. They have a nasty habit of telling you part of the information you need, like "Change the xxx parameter" and then not tell you where to change it.
Or MS makes two software packages and tells you they work together, then MS does not say how.
Sorry about the rant, but I go to MSDN and query with VB.NET and get the Visio solution for the first five returns.

i have entualy got it reading emails but its from the profile on my machine, i think i can hack it from here but it would be great to use the other profile!

Teamgc,
did you get this working? I need to do the same thing for outlook tasks. I need to access several users tasks to insert into a central database for reporting.

not 100% yet, when i do i will let you know
