accessing E drive

I'm trying to access my E drive. I can access the first layer, and after that it says access is denied. I cannot access any folders inside "my documents" it comes up E:\ Documents and Settings\Ryan\My Documents is not accessible. Access is denied. How do i fix this?

You need modify the folder's access right.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I need to gain access to the folder. What happened is somehow i got a virus on my E drive. So I got a new harddrive. Now i want to scan my stuff on my old harddrive to make sure its clean and transfer it to my new harddrive. Problem is I don't have administrative priveledges and don't know how to get them.

What operating system are you using now?

You can not log into your PC wih the administrator account or an administrative equivalent account?

right click the folder -> properties -->security --> add...
