Accessing a old mailbox

I still have a couple of mailboxes on my Exchange server that I really should have deleted ages ago. I kept them originally because I needed to forward their email to a colleague, which is no longer necessary.

Although the account is active and I can log on using their login it refuses to allow me access to the mailbox, because I was going to make one final backup to PST file before deleting it.

Can you help me with this ?

What is the error returned when you try to access the mailbox?

You could give another account full access and try viewing it that way as well.

I was get "the name could not be matched to a name in the address list".

I just remembered that before I disabled her account I chose the option "Hide the name from address lists". As soon as I turned off that option and logged off and back on again, the problem disappeared.

Although I managed to get into one user's mailbox I am still being refused access to others even after re-enabling the account and taking the tick box out of "Hide from Address Book". After Outlook 200 under XP Pro starts off the wizard and asks me to type in the domain and user name, both of which it recognises, it says "Unable to open mailbox - access denied".

Can you assist me ?

I'd look at third party utilites from Quest or Ontrack. Ontrack Powercontols can directly open the database files without exchange installed.
