I have been told that accessing the Mitel controllers on the LAN side of a Teleworker server setup in server and gateway mode is possible. Unfortunately the source was a tease and went walkabout in Australia before handing over the keys.

I have passable skills in the network world but this is proving to be beyond my skill level /paygrade.

I can access the TW server console screen using putty and also the server manager screen via internet explorer. Both via the external address. I cannot figure out how to bridge over to the LAN. The LAN addresses are programmed in the Local Networks of the TW server

Is this even possible or have I been made the victim of an overly sadistic but imaginitively simple joke?

Have you tried the VPN provided on the MAS/MSL? You may have to adjust port forwarding too.

Are you saying there is a VPN component standard within the TW server or are you refering to the 6042 VPN Blade that would need to be installed?

There is a built in VPN solution in the MAS/MSL. Under Security -> Remote Access -> you will see PPTP settings. By default, this number is 0. Up it to 1 or more, then save. Then you need to add a user. One of the options when adding a user is to put a YES in the VPN Client field. After saving, you will have to go that user and put in a passcode. Then use that user account when setting up the VPN on your PC. I would not recommend turning on the VPN access for the "admin" account. Once the VPN is active, you should be able to browse to the 3300. There may be a few gotchas if the internal IP of the teleworker is not on the same subnet as the 3300 or if your PC is behind a firewall that does not allow for the VPN connection, but I have done this before on a few sites.

There may be another way to access the 3300 via the web(https) with Port forwarding, but I have not had the chance to play with that. This would be ideal when you are behind a restrictive firewall.

Sounds interesting,

I'll have to give it a try next time I'm on site.

I doesn't seem that I'm able to create a user account remotely.
