I dropped an Access97 stand alone program onto a computer that has access2000 already on it. The program runs fine. But when they open up a different database in Access2000 that database in 2000 no longer works. If I go in and run the Msaccess.exe in 2000 it will work again. But, now if I run the 97 stand alone, it will not run and asks to be converted to 2000 which an .mde file can't do. Any ideas?

go into tools>references and reset all the references that you had in the original 97 project.

As far as I remember lies the problem in the Registry settings that change automatically when you start A97 or A2K.
The solution to your problem is to open the "standalone" programm=MDE in A97 format with A2K.
Since you certainly need special shortcut parameters you simply change the original A97 shortcut in a way so that it points to the A2K-exe.
This should work fine, but please keep us informed about the result.
