I want to achieve this on Windows 2003 IIS:

deny access to all users except supervisors for and allow access tp
- is this possible?
- how do implement such a scenario?

Thanks!

This is a very broad question.

1) Is this an Intranet application?
2) Are you using Windows Authentication?
3) Are each of these sites set up in their own root site (or are they in virtual directories)?
4) What language are your websites written in (ASP.NET apps)?

Regards,

J

- this is an ASP.NET 1.1 website used on intranet.
- no windows authentication.

What I want:

reach the website via it's IP address, allowed for everyone.
reach the website via hostname, allowed for certain people.

Yes, that works fine. You just don't configure any other host names to respond to and you should be OK.

This works for W2k Server, and W2003. I don't know about 2K08.

Why don't you go for some soft solution?
Deploy some web application and give permit role base access.
