I have several T-Mobile Dash phones that are wirelessly synchronizing with my Exchange 2003 server through ActiveSync. I've had several users ask if there is a way to access the global address list from the phone. Right now, if a user wants to email someone in the organization that isn't in their personal contacts, they have to type out their entire address (instead of just selecting their name from the address list). Is there any way to access the global address list from a PDA?

This should be in the Exchange 2003 forum.

Your Exchange Server has to be running Exchange Service Pack 2, and your PDAs have to be running Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack.

Hmmm....I know we are running SP2 on exchange and Windows Mobile 5.0 but how can I tell if we have Messaging and Security Feature Pack.

My apologies, I just found that we do have the messaging and security feature pack. I guess I'm puzzled as to why we can't see our GAL.

with my pda - xda mini-s, i have a "find online" option in the contacts, so it is possilbe with this MS push technology. The golbal address list doesn't syn through.

T-mobile should be able to tell you how to do it on your device.

Go to Contacts
Go to the Menu
Choose "Find Online..."
Type in the name you're looking for and hit Enter or Find
The phone should then connect to your Exchange Server and look up the information in the GAL
