I am trying to export an Access query, including images, to PageMaker, (or anyother desk top publishing software, for that matter). This seems like it should be a straight forward task (no programming required), but I can not figure out a way to do it. Do I really have to write code to stream the OLE objects to a file? If so, how do I do that?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry, Ann. NOT straightforward. Especially to an Adobe product. You can't even put it into Word, except as RTF.

If you're going to be sending this to "the usual people" on a regular basis, you may want to consider using Snapshot Viewer and saving your reports as snp files.

I have other ideas if you can give me some idea of your layout, whether you're trying for some kind of flyer, or what?

The database is a member db with address, phone number, etc. information, including a picture of each member. Each year we dump the data into a membership directory. OUr printer (a local print shop) would like the file in PageMaker, so they can link directly to their equipment. They have never heard of snp, but are willing to try it.

snp won't work for ya--just thought I'd post here for others.

Ann and Dreamboat are working via email for a viable solution. Hopefully, one of us will remember to post back here about how we worked it out.

This can be done as far as I know. I am pretty sure that Adobe products are much, much more flexible than Microsoft desktop publishing programs. Doesn't Adobe have add-in capability via objects called bosses?......which is written in C++.....check out for more info or mail me for further discussion.

(It's come back to me, Ann...)

The only way I know of to "mailmerge" to PageMaker is to mailmerge to, for instance, Word, as labels. Then save that, and place it in Pagemaker and shorten up each window "pane" so it only shows one record's data.

We are working on a way to do this with Word. I don't know C++ programming, nor do I have the language. Do you, Ann?

Perhaps Suly is volunteering... LOL :)
