we are looking into using MSsql instead of our current MSAccess database solution.

Is it easy to transfer our current master DB into MSSql and also
Is there a front end system that we could use to create user screen for creating quotes, data entry etc........ Without heavy programming.

Thanks

really curious why you posted this in the MySQL forum

you probably want forum183

in any case, one very popular strategy is to use SQL Server linked tables, and just continue with Access as the front end

Hi

Sorry I mean MySQL not MSSql.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Access can continue to serve as a front end with mysql's ODBC driver. It connects to the database, and you can use it to build your screens and dialog boxes

Other than that most user interaction, and screen building for mysql is done through some programming language, PHP, ASP (for web based interfaces), Visual Basic, Delphi (for Windows/desktop based interfaces) etc... There' really no actual tool like MS Access.

MS purports its a database tool, when in reality, its more of a mush of db engine, db management tool and a Visual Basic interface to create the end user's interface.
