A member of this site used to host a searchable offline copy of the Aloha Knowledgebase on his personal website. This has recently disappeared from the website and I no longer have access to any Aloha documentation. When we run into issues / bugs with Aloha , being able to search the knowledgebase has been helpful.

Now that it is no longer on the site that I used, I requested access to the official Radiant / Aloha KB site but was declined. Radiant sent this message to their (our) regional channel partner:

"We received the following Radiant Knowledge Base access request from one of your customers. Please be aware that we only provide RKS access to our channel partners, not to their clients. Please contact the site to provide any needed assistance."

I don't want to deal with my Aloha dealer. I really don't like Radiant's policies. Restricting access to documentation and software utilities is terrible for technical end users like myself.

Does anybody know how somebody like myself would gain access to the Aloha Knowledgebase? Thanks.

The the original AKBID's html is floating out there and will give you a good idea on where to look in solving an issue if the debout's are not obvious, those with access to the current java based searchable knowledge base can download an offline copy of it, but when their channel partner shares it is where the problem occurs, they get in trouble and potentially can get their dealer license pulled. Best in these situations to find a dealer out of the country and still under the less restrictive original Ibertech contract with Radiant.

I had a few of the HTML versions IberRoot is referring to, and I don't even use them anymore because they are so outdated. That's because Radiant stopped distributing those years ago in favor of an online searchable database.

I think I remember the member you were talking about... he I both got the idea for the site because this site will not let you exchange PMs and other restrictions, and he started hosting it. Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough traffic going to it (only about 5 members would ever browse it) and it sorta fizzled.

I agree with you about Radiant and it's policies, but unfortunately what's terrible for you is great for them... they keep customers at their mercy, which is probably why half the posts on this section of the site are Aloha related.

Sorry if my point wasn't clear in that last post, I was basically just saying that knowledge base documents that were distributed by Ibertech/Radiant would likely be very old and would not be of much use to you now.

I have the original 400+ put in a vBulletin indexed for quick search purposes, also have an offline ver of the current (couple months old), but haven't had the time put it all together, new one contains original 400+ docs and don't really want duplicates. Got a site together with vB, vB Project for use in problem solving, mail server, VOIP, Radius with PhoneFactor, single quad box running server 08 x64 with 8GB RAM. Starting KB's for multiple app titles, most of what I want to do in making information available had to be put on the back burner so I could focus on both ends of PCI v2.0. Those interested can take a look, I made a 'donation' post earlier, read the GPL.
