Our customer has a PRI, and the carrier requires account codes on long distance calls. However, they don't want to have to use the codes from their 3 fax machines, which are connected to the PRI via the MICS. The carrier has set up channels 21, 22, and 23 so no account codes are required. Can the fax extensions be programmed to directly access those channels?

PRI cannot be 'channelized' ... Norstar looks at the whole link
If it is a T1 - it can be grouped into pools

Definitly cannot channelize PRI. Since you have to route calls w/ dest. codes on PRI.......can you set a destination code for just your fax users? Say....all traffic is going out with a leading 9 in your destination codes (w/ exception to 411 and such) can you create a destenation code, say 8 for example. Send that to it's own route and add the pic code for you carrier in the route. All fax machines would then just be 8 and out. Just a thought since I was reading this. Not sure if you would want to go through that trouble. Having the LEC open the last 3 channels of the PRI wouldn't work too well. Seeming that you wouldn't be able to derovision these chennels in the BCM anyways....all users would hit those3 first when outdialing over the PRI.
