Is there a way to prevent users of an access DB without use of a logon screen or using the security wizard, to prevent them form altering the DB tables directly, if not what would be the way to do this. fyi: I can't make since of the security wizard.

Question2 - Is it possable to rejoin a slit access DB, if so how can I prevent this?

Second question - it's possible to rejoin a split database by reimporting the tables in the backend to the front end (deleted the links to backend tables first). Of course, this is almost guaranteed to be a bad idea.

I can't think of a good way to secure the tables without a security file. Next best solution is probably to hide the Database Window and all menues and toolbars that can get to it, but a savy user can figure out how to get around that.

Hi, thanks for your reply, I have tried your reply before (by accident, clicking to fast) and I can't seem to find a way back to design mode after I hide the db window and toolbars, I couldn't even find a successful way to rejoin either, all attempts would end in failure, I removed standard toolbars and removed shortcut keys and even with delieting the tables in the back end you can't import them to the front end if there isn't a db window for you to find them in, and once hidden, even with tools unhide the table or form doesn't show up in that list.
so I think by accident I may have stumbled apon a fairly easy way to secure a DB, I have go as far as to attempt renaiming tables and columns to produce errore messages with Debug as an option to trap that message so the end user doesn't have a chance to screw with the code.
Do you know of an easy way to explain the secuity wizard so it will make since to me,
Here's what I would need for it to do , prevent users from editing anytable that does not end in "LU" directly and prevent copy, past, edit for all users , and have an 2 admin accounts 1 with full privleges and 1 with privleges to edit eables directly but no cut, copy, or past
