What I'm wondering is, how can I use a search button in MS Access to allow me to enter my search criteria in the field and search on that.

Hi,

I am not sure if I understand your question to the limits, but I use the wizard to create a button on a form. This way you get easely to the search option.

Is this what you are looking for?

wildbill,

Are you looking to 'mimic' Access's Filter by Form functionality?

You can use this in any system where the user has the full version of Access.

If they are using a run-time version, then some clever person has written an add-in called QBF (Query By Form) to do the same thing. I can't remeber the URL to download it but it should be lurking about somewhere in this forum

HTH,
