Hi

Which is the best way to print/preview existing Access Reports within your Visual Basic Application?

I'm trying to find a solution that does not have to start an instance of Access to run a particular report... i.e If the user doesn't have Access on his/her pc, he/she can still access data within an access application...how can I use a similar method when it comes to reporting? If the end user doesn't have access would that prohibit him/her from running my reports?

Any comments appreciated.

The only way (that I know of) to view Access reports w/o the user having Access on their PCs is to use the Access runtime Library that you get with the 'Developer' version of MS Office. Otherwise, I believe that you need to have Access on the User's machine (unless you run it off of a central server, perhaps?)

Hi

Had the same problem. Maybe you should try using COM(+) to connect to the server running Access and run reports that way. Otherwise, I doubt using the Access RTL would work if the user doesn't have Access installed....(I could be wrong...) ;)
