I have recently setup an access database and am having a problem with the relationships. I created relationships and then deleted a table to which the table did not recognise and it still had the + sign to click on - I have now created the table again but when I click on + I am asked for a parameter value???

OK, Let me see if i have this correct:
You created two tables and related them together?
Then you deleted a table because one didn't recognise the other?
(If this is the case how did you create the relationship to start with?)
Then you recreated the table again?
Have you created a relationship this time - if so how?
Without being able to see what you have done, i suspect you might be trying to join two tables that don't have the same data type fields. If you are sure you have done this correctly, then are you trying to look at the tables without any data in them? For example, you may have entered data in the top table(under record1 for example), but the linked table is still empty, therefore it might be asking you for the id number to establish the correct related record to show..to test this, take a look at any record in the main table - make a note of the PK (Primary Key)and when you click + and you are asked for a parameter, enter the PK number and see what happens - i suspect the table will open but show nothing, all this is a guess, but an educated one... Hope this helps.

Well you near enough hit the bulls eye with the response.
I did have a relationship between the two tables but no information at present to go in one and wasnt sure how I wanted it therefore I deleted it to think about it and start again but having deleted it i am now being asked for the parameter value.
I have entered information into the linked table but even that isn't showing up when i enter the parameter value
Also I do have relationships with two other fields but I cannot access them when I click on + sign
Hope you can understand this

Problem solved.

After much searching I went into Design view and clicked on properties changed the subdatasheet to NONE and hey presto everything is OK.

Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to post back and let everyone know how you solved the problem. So many times, the problem is corrected but the solution isn't posted. By you taking the time to come back and post the solution, you will help the users having the same problem later.

My personal saying - Just remember, it can always get worse, and usually will.

Urgent query, I need to populate a Form with around 1900 Contact Names under the appropriate Company in a Form already set up. Data is under relevant Company name in a Table datasheet view but is not coming acoss unless I enter a parameter value (the Customer ID) - this only allows the names of one company record to be entered at a time - what can I try ?

Would appreciate if anyone can help ?

Best Regards.

Are you just trying to add data?
Have you created a relationship but when you click on the + sign it then asks for the parameter value?

Yes need to add the data to the form (not enter it), haven't created a relationship I don't think ! can I create a relationship between a Table and Form ? Do you mean the + sign in the Table ? - when I expand the company name in the table the contact names are all there, but it's getting them to appear in the Form I want !

Thanks.

Sorry have to admit - not sure how you do that
I'm sure someone in here will though.

Good Luck
