I'm trying to create a query between two tables and when I finish the query wizard, I get this error dialog.

"The wizard is unable to open your query in Datasheet view, possibly because another user has a source table open in exclusive mode. Your query will be opened in Design View."

No other user is using the table. Once I go into design view and try and run the query from there I get the message

"Type mismatch in expression"

I've already rebooted my machine, and I would welcome any ideas.

Without actually seeing your query's SQL I can't really say what the problem is. A type mismatch usually occurs when you have a mismatch of datatypes in your Where clause but it could also be a bad join. If you would paste in your code it would be a big help.

Hi,
Can you get the SQL View source and post it here?

Thanks for you help guys. I found the problem, I had the relationship linking between multiple tables imported from excel info, and one of the fields had imported as a text rather than a number. I feel like an idiot. But thanks anyway.
