I have an access project file .adp which connects to an access database on sql server 2000 via ODBC connection.
I imported a tab delimited file into one of my tables which is linked to another table. When I try to open the table I get an error - "ado error invalid column 'constid' " yet that column does not exist. I am not sure but is seems that a key was screwed up during the import. any suggestions as to how to rid this error.

thanks

The column "constid" exists in the system table sysforeignkeys.

Find out if there are any constraint in either table.

.Thanks Dimandja,

But I think I screwed up again; I went in enterprise manager and I deleted sysconstraints, now when I try to open my table I get ado error invalid object constraints.
I deleted it thinking I could recreate it through creating a new digram linking my tables back again. but that did not work. when I try to recreate my digram in enterprise manager linking the tables the wizzard want load my table,
it gives that error "ado error invalid object name sysconstraints". what do I do now?
thanks

If you keep backups of your database, you're in luck.

Let'see if there is another way around this...

There are several utilities (some free) you can obtain to "undelete" your files.

Dimandja,

yes we have a backup; but I have never had to restore my database in the 4 years I've been here. can I restore that one file only (sysconstraints) rather than the entire database..

thanks

Try restoring only that one table, and tell us whether new problems developed.

DImandja thanks a million I saved my data to another database I created; went to the backup and restored the database; then copied my data I saved in the other database
to my restored database so I did not lose any data.
thanks for helping me find out about the sysconstraints.
