Access progress/status bar, form loses focus

In Access 2003, and now in Access 2007, I've used the status bar SysCmd functions acSysCmdInitMeter, acSysCmdUpdateMeter, and acSysCmdClearStatus. I've noticed in both versions that while looping through commands and displaying the status bar, at some point Access seems to lose focus and the status bar stops updating until the job is done. I tried adding a repaint, and this sometimes works; but seems very inefficient to have to repaint the form for each and every loop. Has anybody else seen this behavior? And if you have a solution better than repaint (doesn't always work, but unless that's the only one), what is it?

Thanks,
Tom.

Looks like if I simply add an "Application.DoEvents()" inside the loop, that should do the trick.

Thanks.
