Hi,

How do I configure Access Manager for first time use with Microsoft Outlook or with security from Windows?
Is it possible?

Not exactly sure what you are looking for here. There is no integration between these products, unless you are talking about single sign on between the OS and Cognos user accounts. If this is the case, you need to add an OSSignon to your Access Manager user account.

Hi,

There are two main types of authentication source : a directory server or a local authentication export file (.lae).
My objective: to use the directory of Microsoft Outlook like a directory server.
I would like to directly exploit the internal directory of the compagny.

MS outlook isn't a directory server and so can not be used as the authentication source for Access manager.

You would need something like Netscape directory manager SUN one server or Microsoft LDAP.

By exposing you my problem, perhaps which you will be able to better help me.
With Powerplay version 7.3, I wish to integrate the concept of security. I do not have a directory server, users are listed in the address book of Microsoft Outlook.
How to configure security?
In the absence of being able to use a directory server, the configuration of Access Manager with a local file of authentification (lae) would be the solution.
How to configure Access Manager with a local file of authentification (lae) vacuum?

If somebody it is already found in this situation, thank you to say to me how it made.

carfi,

Your are not going to be able to use Microsoft Outlook. The best you can do is use your Microsoft Active Directory or
Cognos has provide the sun one LDAP on the supplment disks you received with your software.

Once the Sun One LDAp is installed and your users have been entered and what userclasses each are assigned too, you can export it to an LAE from your remote users and desktop users and configure their workstations to use the LDAP server.

Hope this helps
