Access-list and permit ip

When creating an access-list for example

access-list outside1 permit ip host 1.1.1.1 host 2.2.2.2

What does the parameter ip include? Is it TCP,UDP, and ICMP? or anything that uses an IP address?

IP" includes everything [except IPX ]

So it also includes esp and sh for example?

I know esp should be in there. I am not sure what sh is. Be aware that the fixups/inspects will have some effect on those packets.
