I'm having trouble creating an input mask to capture the year.

I stepped through the Input Mask Wizard and enteredthe following data:
Description: Year
Input Mask: 0000
Placeholder: _
Sample Data: 1987
MAsk Type: Date-Time

This seemed to work in the test, but when I attempt to enter information into the table I get the following message "The value you entered isn't valid for this field"

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

TIA,

Steve

If all you want is the YEAR - then why have the field data type set to Date/Time ?

Why not save the year as an Integer. Then your mask will work. ( It still won't stop a user entering 1947, though )

The Dat/Time field expects a date/time. As a base minimum that is Day,Month,Year. The MASK just limits the way the user can type data into the control - it doesn't affect the information conveyed.

'ope-that-'elps.
