When I have finished my Access .adp Database. Is there a way to create an execuatble so that my team doesn't have to start access and then go to 'Forms' and then click on the Main form to start up the DB app. ?
I am asking because I found one in a tutorial, but i cannot find how to create it.

thx

If your users have got Access then you don't need to bother with an executable. Follow these two steps:

1. Create a new desktop shortcut saying somthing like:
[TT]c:\Program files\MSAccess.Exe MyDatabase.mdb[/TT]
and give it a nice new icon.

2. Go to StartUp on the Tools menu in Access, choose the Main form to be displayed at startup. Whilst you're there, untick "Display Database Window" so the users don't get distracted by the main Access window.

Step 1 will make your database appear as soon as they click on the desktop icon.

Step 2 will make your main form appear instead of the Access Database window.

You cant create an executable. but you can have the main form as a start up form so when you start the mdb it opens to that form

tools-startup-display form

or just a short cut to the form

right click on the form then from the menu choose create short cut if all is correct choose ok

each will save you the steps
