Am looking to improve my access skills. I am fairly comfortable with most aspects of queries, forms, tables & macros and want to progress to writing SQL and Visual Basic codes to develop Access applications. Lots of books out there - few review sites - which of these has anyone used and how they rate them?

Creating Microsoft Access 2000 Solutions: A Power Users' Guide with CDROM
by Gordon Padwick

Alison Balter's Mastering Microsoft Access 2000 Development

Microsoft Access 2000 Bible Gold Edition

Access 2000 Developer's Handbook Volume 1: Desktop Edition

Access 2000 Developer's Handbook 2 Volume Set

Thanks for any input,
Rob

If they're the Sybex books get:

Access 2000 Developer's Handbook Volume 1: Desktop Edition

Access 2000 Developer's Handbook 2 Volume Set

By far the best I've come across anyway..........

Ed Metcalfe.

Generally speaking, Ken Getz is the author you need. The books Ed listed from Sybex I think are Ken Getz books.

O'Reilly has a new one out too...Access Cookbook - the authors are Paul Litwin, Ken Getz, Andy Baron. Haven't had any opportunity to browse through it, but I have seen some of the code samples, and it looks as if it could be a handy reference for a beginner (like myself).
