We are trying the test version of SharePoint Portal server to see if we would like to implement it in our location. So far we have had nothing but problems but here is the first problem when a user tries to post a document or create a sub web they get this error "Access Denied - You do not have permission to access this item". The user has the Cordinator right and is even a administrator of the server. Anyone had this problem and can help us. The other problem is we can not make a web folder point to the server it will not take the username and password we enter, why?

"The other problem is we can not make a web folder point to the server it will not take the username and password we enter, why?" Ok we figured this problem out but the web denied access problem still exists.

when a user with cordinator rights tries to post a document or create a sub web they get this error "Access Denied - You do not have permission to access this item" This same user can use Web folders and get right in and create documents and sub webs with no problems.

Any Help out there?

We're having the same issue. Did you find a solution to this?

Make sure Integrated Windows Authentication is not used if you are crossing a firewall or using a proxy. This (IWA)will only work well if all clients are on windows and are all on the same domain. Go with Basic Authentication and if you want to, SSL your web server for security.
