Hello All,

I have Backup Exec v8.6 backing up a number of NT servers and 1 Novell server. All data is backed up and verified successfully though the job always comes back as failed. The reason for this is because Backup Exec is trying to copy the Novell Licence files to tape, which it never and can never have access to (the nature of Novell Licencing). By looking through the Knowledge base/Forums etc people it has been suggested that nothing can be done about this. I hope you guys can help me prove them wrong. I enclose the section of the job jog for you information.

Many Thanks to all that reply to this tread.

Hi.

Don't know if it's relevant to your problem, but, depending on your version of NetWare you're using, take a look at TID 200500 on Veritas' KnowledgeBase.

Tried to exclude license file andor directory, without success. I think this is caused by the way the agent or the backup server reads the NDS. It seems that the job scans the whole NDS caontainers, ignoring the exclude statements.
Hope that Veritas corrects this this year...
The only problem I can see is that the job "fails" every time.

The same thing is happening to me. I have 1 W2K box with Backup Exec 8.6 backing up a Netware 5.1 box using the BE Remote Agent.

Any solution yet?

Thanks,
