Hi All,

I am having a weird problem with OWA.
Exch 2003 on Win 2003 both fully patched. Everything was working fine after installation both Outlook client and OWA. So i moved to the next step of enabling HTTPS for OWA. I installed certificate services no issues. Configured required changes as per MS in IIS to enable exchange to use cert. Now when a user access OWA they get their inbox but they also get an access denied error and can't see any emails just the error.

I have gone thru various MS docs relating to permissions but no luck.

Any direction would be appreciated.

good day whokillkenny, the irony in this post is my name is kenny.

So, after walking away from the exch server yesterday for fear of losing my mind i came back at it today.
You post prompted me to investigate the permissions and options enabled under IIS.

The first thing i did was to back track that is look at the last step i executed on the exch server. I disabled the "require 128 bit encrypt" option on the properties box of the exchangeweb site under IIS.

Tested https and it works fine. I said how could this be? So i referenced a few docs and found that if you used an online CA which i did and not a third party ca you don't need to have this option enabled because its enabled by default.

Makes almost no sense cuz i would think if its already enabled by default this option should be meaning less.
Apparently not! So i have everything working. Call me crazy but crazy works.

thx
