Access denied - SP3 1

I get "access denied" on all XP pc's trying to install SP3. We on Windows 2003 domain. According to MS it's related to access denied to certain registry entries.Pc's have local admin rights.

If the above fails to solve the problem try the basics like temporarily disabling your anti virus software and any other realtime scanning programs.

Disabled AV but it still fails with "access denied"
Users have local admin rights but it seems there must be restrictions on the registry.

‘DoNotAllowSP’ value set to 1

If this key exsists delete it or change its value to 0

Do you want to try the SubInAcl tool to see if it can overcome the Registry problems?

Are there any Policies coming down via Group Policy that might be restricting your install of SP3 if it is happening on all the XP machines?
