I Recently tried to add a new Exchange 5.5 server to my current site. I removed the newly added server and decided to create a newsite with the server in it. When all was complete, I was unable to perform a backup using my Backup Exec 8.5 with exchange agent. We removed the new site and server hoping this will clear the problem, but evidenly it has not. I have performed off-line backups, but situation is getting critical. I have been working with Microsoft on the issue for several weeks, but it s very difficult working with a server that is being used most of the time. I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem. Appreciate any input.

Does NTBackup work? Is this a Brick Level backup? Dan

I had initial problems using BE8.5 on exchange 5.5 with "access denied" errors.

I resolved it by playing with accounts...try configuring your LAN admin a/c as your BE admin a/c

hope this helps a bit....

I found out what the problem was. There was a trailing period on the organization name. The Exchange administrator and Raw properties did not show a trailing period. Once I removed it, i was able to perform directory replication and full backup of the priv and pub information stores. I really apreciate your inputs.

Thank you :)
