I'm trying to configure SIP trunks with the Australian ISP 'Engin'. This is proving a little more difficult than expected.. I have SIP trunks to iiNet working just fine and I can dial out and receive calls no problem at all. Engin SIP trunks don't seem to be working for me.

When I run the maintenance command SIP LINK STATE ALL I get the following response:

Link engin state is IN SERVICE (link down count 5)

In my logs I see the following:

SIP trunk engin Account 0756671234 Registrar byo.engin.com.au has registered successfully. The registration will expire in 3600 seconds

However when I make a call, I get 'access denied' on the handset and the following log appears:

Authentication failure - 403 receivedRecent failure count 1 in last 0 seconds Total failure count 51 Type of call : Outgoing Route 11 Link engin From 10.12.20.2 To engin

I assume most will tell me to check COR and COS settings, but I have gone over these a million times. I have setup a speedcall that overrides the toll setting and still I get the same 'access denied' message. I am happy to post CCS traces if that will help?

The account works just fine a SIP softphone just not in Mitel..

Any help would be appreciated!

Don't confuse DTMF with DTF. They have very different meanings....

Have you got your SIP peer profile set corectly with the number given to you by the provider exactley as provided? It'll be a SIP peer profile issue somewhere I would say.

There is a how-to on the knowledge base for Engin, have you followed it.

Configure MCD 4.1 for use with Engin SIP Trunking Service Provider

I've triple checked the credentials in SIP peer profile and all appears to be correct. Although - I have not seen the kb sarond has posted (perhaps there is something I have missed). Sarond would you have a copy of that kb you could post?

Appreciate that - Thanks Sarond. Will comb through this doc and see how we go.

Sarond you're a legend thank you - I am up and running.

It appears as though I needed to configure a proxy in the network element assignment form (it's covered in the KB 10-4940-00129 'Configure MCD 4.1 for use with Engin SIP Trunking Service Provider').

The FQDN's have changed a few times, today they are byo.engin.com.au or trunk.engin.com.au

Thanks for all the help gents!
