Access DB corruption

We have an access DB that will not open.

We receive the following error:

Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the object "Databases"

Is there a way to recover from this?
I have tried Jetaccess but this will not open the DB.

Assuming you have tried a conventional compact/repair, search Microsoft for a free utility called JetComp which can sometimes fix corruptions not handled by conventional repairs.

Are you aware of any more freeware utiliteis we could try?

Try importing all the objects into a new blank MDB. This usually does the trick for me.

The error message will not allow any import/export.

Then I suspect your database is not going to be fixable.

But then you do have separate live and development environments, don't you? And of course you can restore from the backups you've been taking......
