Is anyone using an Access database with a touch screen device/driver? Win98/2K?

Not yet but I am going to soon. I am checking out some POS sites for hardware and one of the questions to them will be just what you are asking about. My son owns a Cafe in S.F. and needs a POS system. So, Dad is going to have to come through right? It is going to be touchscreen, double cash drawer, and receipt printer. When I find out more I will post info here for you if no one else has any experience with this situation. Bob Scriver

I am still waiting for the hardware to be purchased and sent to Michigan. This is intended to be soon. As any son would, once I get the hardware he is surely going to want the software by yesterday.

Will keep you posted.

No not yet. He's working at his own pace here and I am sure that I will get a 2 week notice as to when it is needed. What's new.

Thanks for your reply. I do have a general question. Is their a separate application from Microsoft to give Access the touch screen capability? And, what are the hardware (monitor) requirements? Any light you can shed on this now or later will be appreciated. Thanks.

From what I have seen the software provided by the touchscreen manufacture provides all that is needed. The touchscreen sends finger touches as if it is a mouseclick along with the location on the screen. Nothing is needed from Microsoft.

The driver provided by the screen manufacturer takes care of that issue.

I had a demo from 3M in Bristol, UK the system was called a Howie and the screen contans the complete PC system so it's really slick to use at the point os sale. The screen was running in 30 mins from arrival and there were no special requirements at all it just worked exactly as it was supposed to. I've got one arriving next week, can't wait. Did you get sorted since June?
