Hi there

I am a newbie to this forum and I hope someone will be able to help. It's probably a very simple problem I am experiencing.

Basically I have a form called "Maitain Customer" which is an unbound form so doesn't reference any data in any tables. I want to create 3 command buttons on this form.
1. To add a new customer
2. To delete a customer
3. To query a customer (based on a customer ID)

I have created a form using the form wizard from my table called "customers".

I know how to create the command buttons but am struggling to define how to open the "customers" form is a blank format so that I can add a new customer. The form I created from the customers tables shows ALL the records and allows me to cycle through them. I basically want to open the form in a blank form so that my users can input data and not show them the data that's already in the table. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance....cheers! Thanks for helping a newbie.

On the property sheet of the form, click the ALL tab. You'll see the options Allow Edits, Allow Deletions, Allow Additions, and Data Entry. By setting these options, you can control user input. You want to set Data Entry to YES.
Also, you can control the automatic save when you come to the end of the tabbinb order by setting CYCLE to Current Record.

Hi there

Thanks for your reply...I have been looking for these options all day and can't seem to find them. I am obviously suffering from Access overload ;)

On the ALL tab i cannot see any of these options....:(

I assume you mean go the properties of the form in design view?

Cheers

:)

Open your form. The first button on your toobar is called VIEW. Click on this button. In the lower left corner, you should see the word "Design view". Click in the upper left little square on your form. When you do so, a black square will appear. This is how you select the form. Click on the button called Properties to bring up the property sheet. Click on the ALL tab. You'll see the options mentioned.
