Access Code to show port?

Is there an access code I can enter on a phone to see what port number on the system it is?

I have a number of phones plugged into ports but the lines are not active. I was hoping for an easier way then tracking it all the way back to the closet...

Two ways i can think of.

1. Dial the Attendant and they will tell you the port number from their screen.

2. Assign a temp extn number for your test and log this onto the phone, then dial the Self Station Display Activation feature code and this will show the port ID number.

While I was hoping for something with a little less steps this will work.

So I would TTI an ext to the phone, dial the Self Station Display Activation feature code, and then un-TTI the phone correct?

Once I get the codes down this should work fast enough I guess. Thanks for the quick reply.

Yep use TTI to log on. (try not to forgrt to log off)and the code.

I always use my test number to get port info.

The attendant thing you can do a few times before they catch on and don't pick up.

Here's the answer in full: -

ch sys para feat

make sure Self Station Display Activate is set to Y

Now assign a feature access code for Self Station Display, eg. *96

Now on any phone with a display dial *96.

You will be shown the port number and the extension number.
