Hi, all:

I have an Exchange 5.5 on one server (NT4, sp6), behind Firebox - from where I have both SMTP and and OWA traffic directed the this box. Lately, I also added another Exchange 5.5 on a w2k server (sp2) in the same domain. To balance the load, I moved some mailboxes to the w2k box.

Now, my question is, how can I have the users (who's mailboxes are moved to the w2k) to access the e-mail via OWA.

Have anyone did this before. Thanks. It's not about whether you can do it or not, it's about HOW

We have about 3000 users spread across four servers, and one OWA machine. As long as your exchange servers are in the same site, access to the new server is automatic. No configuration is required.

That was I thought. After I moved my mailbox to the w2k, when I logon via OWA, I got a message "Failed to get inbox". When log on from local mail client (Outlook), it is seamless.

By the way, when I moved the mailboxes, I went to Recipients, selected Mailbox in question, open Properities, at Advanced tab, select the server at Home Server. Apply. Anything else should be addressed ? It's not about whether you can do it or not, it's about HOW

We added a forth Exchange 5.5 server to our site and have the same problem. It seems that adding a new server to the site it would be recognized by OWA…NOT true!
Our OWA server is a separate machine in the DMZ. Does anyone have the solution to this? MS Technet is of little help when it comes to OWA.

Guys,

Reference to what reggans said that as long as your servers are all under one site then all users can access one dedicated OWA server. I think the problem could be solved if you upgrade all your servers to Exchange 2k.

I think instead of selecting the users mailbox then the advanced tab and changing the server name in the home server box you may want to try "moving" the mailbox. Highlight the mailbox you want to move then go to tools and select "move mailbox". Then select the destination server where the mailbox will be exported to. Then try OWA to access the account.
