hi, I need to access a Windows server on a Linux server. How I can do it? What programme I need to install fot this?
Txs

Yes, but I need something as terminal server. For example, from Windows I access to unix/limux using putty, but from linux to Windows, how I can do it?
Txs.

There are terminal server clients for Linux. I admin our windows servers from my linux workstation. What distro/front end are you using? I know that my last few KDE installations had Krdc on then, that works for both VNC and RDC.

rdesktop is the package you want. Krdc is the KDE frontend for rdesktop which supports VNC and MS-RDP protocols.

Have Fun!

Hi Yarka ,

If going the VNC route, which I'd recommend.

On the Windows server, you'll need to install a VNC server (there are numerous ones, just google).

One the Linux server you'll need a VNC client, or if you set the Windows server to recive http, you'll need a web browser with Java plugin.

Good luck,
DrD

Windows also has a telnet kind of server, but you end up in a NT cmd box. So you won't have the power of a normal CLI enviroment. You could add extra tools to make it a bit usefull. with Smbclient of the Samba package you can get files FTP like.

Other option is installing remote GUI like tools, like stated above.

Performance is generally better on RDP, though. It's also a lot more secure, you have to constantly update the VNC server because hideous vulnerabilities are always coming out.

When in Ro.. er Redmond... RDP is the way to go. Use rdesktop to connect from *nix.

Lay There!!
