One of my apps on Access 97 has the startup option disabled on the tools menu. What causes this and how do I get it enabled?

Thank you

There is a setting in 'Tools'-'Start Up' which says 'Display Database Window'. You can also associate a 'Start-Up' form here.

If the 'Display Database Window' is not ticked you won't see the contents of the database. If you've an opened database like this then go to the Window menu and click the option to 'Unhide'.

Saving the database with the 'Display Database Window' setting should solve it.

Hope this helps,
Leon.

'Tools'-'Start Up' the 'start up' is grayed out and disabled.

How do I enable the 'Tools'-'Start Up' ????

It may be that it is a start-up command to disable that part of the controls. If so, you can by pass these commands by holding down the F11 key when you open the file.
If this doesn't by pass it, go to the file in it's folder, highlight it, hold down Shift, then press Enter.

You should be able to go into start-up and re-enable it now.

Good luck,
Yarbz

Thanks for the response.

I tried both the shift and F11 on starting the application.

The "startup" under the "Tools" menu is still unavailable to me in this app. I want to be able to get into startup so I can set a Form for the application on startup.

Any other ideas?

Thank you
