Hi,

I've just converted a 95 database to Access 2000, and get a compile error when I open the converted database. The error occurs when the CHR function is used, and displays the message 'Compile error. Can't find project or library'.

I did a bit of research, and found that the CHR function is contained in the Access 7.0 object library. However, when I try and set the references I don't have this library to select.

Does anyone know where I can get this library, or is there an alternative to using the CHR function in Access 2000

Thanks

David.

The chr function is still there, but you have a missing reference somewhere.
Go into the code view (press alt+F11) and go to tools->References.

Have a look for a reference that is down as MISSING. Untick it and you should be ok. My guess it is excel or word 7 that has now been replaced with word 9.

Thanks!

It was indeed a missing library - Jet SQL Help Topics.
