Hi, i have a .mdb from Access 2000. In Access 2007 there is an advertisement on the opening that says Security warning: part of the database content has been disabled. And there's an options button for enabling that content, but you must enable it each time you open the DB.

Is there a way of permanent allowing of this content or avoiding the security warning?

Thanks for any help.

Office button | Access options | Trust Center hit the Trust Center Settings... button, and in the Trusted Locations category, add the location of your db to the trusted locations (including subfolders, if needed).

Thanks RoyVidar.

What i need is to make a setup file for:

- installing DBPix
- Copying mdb file and Mousehook.dll file to a specified folder
- adding, if Access 2007 is the installed version, that location to teh trusted locations automatically.

I don't know if that is possible.

I don't know any setup-tools, I'm afraid.

You shouldn't be needing mousehook on 2007, I think.

Installing a database/app which by it self is able to set a folder to trusted, kind of defeat's the purpose security, doesn't it? But it should be possible. I think the trusted locations are registry settings, so I think the general approach posted by Tony Toews in the following link, should be applicable; (the whole thread, is a discussion on these topics)

Thanks for your information RoyVidar.

if you used access 2007 runtime and setup the links to run using this rather than the installed full access then this should get around things... maybe

or if the database was developed and runs in 2000 why not just package everything using package and deployment, then select to include access 2000 runtime option and this should install runtime on the machine and set the shortcut to use the specific runtime location within the shortcut...

just a thought... would only work if the users didn't need to modify the database design or create queries.... if they don't this will be better security, especially if you use mde files rather than the full mdb

just a thought

even my shrink says its all your f#@/ing fault

Thanks davejam.

I use full version of Access and the DB is conceived for that, so the best i thing is the user adds the folder to the trusted locations.

I use a reg file to insert the location as trusted directory into the registry when installing the database.

just insert the text below into a notepad file and save as a .reg file

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Access\Security\Trusted Locations\YourDbName]
"Description"="YourDbName"
"Path"="C:\\FolderName\\SubFolderName"
