I am using Windows 2000 and I already have Access 2000 installed (the Office 2000 package).
I tried installing Access 97 (from the Office 97 package) with Access 2000 by following the guide written by Microsoft. The problem is that all of the data for Access 97 installs (Word, Excel 97 etc as well) but not the actual executable to get the Access program running.
I then uninstalled Office 2000 and installed Access 97 again but again the executable wasn't there.
I'm at a loss what to do really. I need Access 97 as all of my users are on that version. The only thing I can think of is reformatting the drive and splitting it so that I can put Win 98 and Win 2000 dual boot (as I have done at home successfully with Win 98 and Win XP) with 97 and one and 2000 on the other.
I didn't really want to do that though as it's the work desktop PC, not mine....
Thanks for listening...
