Hi,

How do I get my type tree to accept messages of diff formats? I am using the std type tree from mercator and would like to be able to accept both the formats below:

First:
-------
ISA*..........~
GS*....

Second:
--------
ISA*..........~GS*.....

Thanks

The original trees should accept multiple formats. We use an unmodified tree and process ~<NL> regularly. Which of the std trees are you using? I assume its one of the hippa_x12*.mtt trees.

-------------------------------------------------
If you are using the std hippa tree in a custom map then do the following:

Verify that the ISA segment in you tree contains the element 'Terminator' and that its located in the 'ISA' segment. If so,you'll see a component rule something like this

can not = Element Delimiter & can not = Composite Delimiter

Then double click the element and confirm that your delimiter is still part of the restriction list... should find something like the following in the list... '~<NL>' or '~<CR><LF>'

Then confirm the terminator for any other segment is set to variable and it refers to the 'Terminator' element.
-------------------------------------------
If you are having an issue with how CMgr manages ~<NL> you'll need to open PMgr and review some settings and potentially modify a tree.

What version are you using?
