Accept Invalid Dates

Is there anyway to change a date field to accept invalid dates such as 02/30/2006?

No way If you use native DateTime field, but you could create your own format based on char adn store thee types there. Why you need this? what the date is 30 Feb. 2006?

We have a unix based program that allows that date for billing purposes and our SQL table is not recognizing the records.

Sounds like the Unix program needs some re-engineering. If the date is allowed to go beyond the end of the month, then the date should end up with a valid date in the next month.

If this date isn't being acted upon in any way (say, as part of a count for net due day, etc) then I would say convert the date to a char value.
