Release notes for Avaya Client Applications (ACA) 6.3.x as well as another ACA document for integration with Microsoft Lync show support for 96x1 SIP phones, but do not show support for 96x0 SIP phones. The reason that was given is that 96x0 SIP phones do not support shared control. I was wondering if this is really the case for the 9650 SIP phone, and that it cannot be an end point with ACA 6.3.x?

It might work. Typically interop testing only occurs with what is currently developed/will be fixed if there were a firmware bug.

H323 should work OK for you though.

I don't distrust the Release Notes, but I wanted to be certain because a large number of existing phones are involved. Also, for H.323 there was an inconsistency between the Release Notes and other Avaya documentation and I thought that perhaps something similar might have occurred with SIP.

In particular, the Release Notes only shows support for 96x1 H.323 phones, but an ACA product definition document shows 96xx H.323 as supported, and an Avaya Lync integration document (which I found after I posted) only stated that the SIP 96x0 was not supported, so presumably the H.323 version is (per suggestion from kyle555).

Anyway, I accept that 9650 SIP is not supported in shared control mode.
