Hi Guys

About to do my first ever NEC install, done Avaya, Panasonic, Siemens and LG in the past but struggling here with some basic stuff (not had much of a training course so go easy on me!)

I have got the system setup with some SIP Trunks however I am struggling to find out where I set my DDI night destination?
It seems so complicated, I can't find how it's done, I can see the DDI under the tab on the right but I can't change it just shows same destination as where I want the day to ring

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi Guys sorry,
It's an SL2100
PC Pro

ok so in 22-02, your trunks are set to DID in both mode 1 and 2. Then in 22-09-01 you set how many digits you want to analyze (Usually two unless you have more than 100 numbers or have additional numbers that can clash with the hundred number range). Next is 22-10 where you set up your tables so for example 1 to 200 for mode 1 and 201 to 400 for mode 2 and so on, you can also set additional 2nd areas for each mode and this allows for simplifying things. In 22-11 you could for example set up your 100 numbers 0001 to 0100 and say for example 01 goes to extn 101 and so on for mode 1 then for mode 2 set 0201 to 0300 as 01 goes to 101 and so on. you then simply enter a different destination in the 200+ range for the number you want to go elsewhere in night mode. Clear as mud?

Now to simplify things if in 22-10 you set the same for 01 and 02 so for example 1 to 200 you have effectively dealt with most of your extension destinations for both day and night. So in order to handle the numbers that change between day and night we need to add second areas to both 01 and 02 for example 0601 to 0620 for 01 and 0621 to 0640 for 02. you can then go back into 22-11 and delete out the entry for the numbers that change in the 0001 to 0200 range and then make an entry in 0601 and up for those numbers in the day and 0621 and up for those numbers at night.

Just a note here, it is much easier to see what you are doing in 22-11 (IMHO) if you view it in grid mode (upper right of PcPro screen). Also note that you can create these tables in Excel and using Grid mode copy and paste them in.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much George.

This makes sense now, I would of struggled to figure that out myself,
Is the SV9100 similar to the SL2100? our sales guys currently quoting one,

Many Thanks again, I'm sure I'll have more questions soon!

Sorry got another question....
What's your strategy on labelling the paper labels on the handsets?
I have one digital handset with a plastic facing that detaches with a full size label,
I am unsure how you can neatly do labelling on these?

You can buy the labels on an a4 carrier sheet for printing but I set up an Excel spreadsheet. I carry a HP411 portable printer with me so having set up the sheet it always prints out the right size and I carry a cheap very thin Guillotine. I simply print these on white paper and cut them out and put them over the keys on top of the label. They look quite good. I was lucky with the printer, I went on Gumtree looking for a portable printer and got it for $30, it cost me more to put ink in it than the printer cost me!

Try DESI.com. Their program is free and they carry a large variety of desi sheets that you run through a printer.

Good luck with the install, did my first SL2100 about a month ago, went well as the customer only wanted basic setup for a small office. Coming from Panasonic it was definately more complicated/workarounds to get things done but seems to work well.
