i want to know from those that use oracle 10g if its as easy as oracle says it is or if someones knows a site that has trustful reviews about databases (oracle,MySQL,MS SQL etc)

Thanks in advanced

Nicholas

First, it is easy database to use. The whole webmanagement of the database is to beat Microsoft at its own game. Remember Microsoft's KISS (keep it simple stupid)approach, I think that is what Oracle has done with 10g.

Also, you cannever get unbias answer from anyone comparing the big RDBMS, I have done a report on comparrisson and it all comes down to what you like and what you want your database to do for you.

Establish what your factors are and do seperate analysis, with web help, if and how the RDBMS meet your factors.

I hope this helps

It is difficult to get accurate side by side comparisons of the major databases. Having worked with them all, I have summarized the major advantages of each:

SQL Server - initial and ongoing costs, free bundled software such as Replication, DTS, Analysis Services, Reporting Services.

Oracle - data concurrency, platform independence, performance.

DB2 - ties to mainframe, ability to tune.

Informix - fast batch processing.

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that noboby appreciates how difficult it was.
